Wal-Mart’s fruit recall and Baobab Fruit’s recall of the fruit they sell were both due to a bug found in the fruit.
Walmart said fruit was not affected in either case.
However, Baobaba has said the fruit was a different kind of apple, and said the company is investigating the matter.
Baobab has already released a statement to the media saying it is looking into the issue and will take “appropriate action”.
The fruit recall was announced after the US Department of Agriculture said a different type of bug was found in apple varieties in its production lines in Florida.
Wal-Mart said on Friday that the US Federal Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) had found no evidence of any risk to consumers, and the company will not beifying affected consumers.
Baobsa Fruit is also responsible for the fruit gushes that are used in restaurants, bars and other places where fruit is served.
